What should I do if I'm blocked from making Epic Games purchases?
Note: If you are a minor and your parent has not set up your account, you may have a Cabined Account with limited features. Refer to Cabined Accounts (Opens in a new tab) for more information.
Note: If your purchase was declined rather than blocked, refer to My purchase has been declined, what can I do?
Purchase blocks are a security measure triggered by multiple failed purchase attempts or unusual purchasing activity. In most cases, waiting 24 hours will resolve the block.
While waiting, check the following:
- Confirm your billing address and payment details are entered correctly.
- Confirm your payment method is active and has sufficient funds.
- Confirm your Epic Games account country matches your current location and payment method. Refer to How do I change the country on my Epic Games account? if needed.
- Contact your bank or payment provider to check if they have placed any restrictions on your account.
If parental controls are set on your account with a spending limit, purchases over that limit will be blocked. Refer to How can I change my Parental Controls Settings? to adjust your spending limit.
If you are still blocked after 24 hours, contact Epic Games Support.
If your account has been flagged for suspicious purchasing activity, refer to How can I prevent my account from being flagged for suspicious purchasing activity?
