"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" when installing the Epic Games Launcher?

If you get the following error when installing the Epic Games Launcher: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" this typically indicates corruption in the launcher. You will need to completely uninstall the Epic Games Launcher and then do a clean reinstall.

  1. Completely close the Epic Games launcher and download this Microsoft tool that is used to completely remove programs from your computer: Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed (Opens in a new tab)

  2. Open the tool after downloading it.

  3. Click Continue and then Uninstalling.

  4. The program will load for a bit, and it will then show a list of programs we are interested in:

    • Epic Games Launcher Prerequisites (x64)

    • Epic Games Launcher

    • Epic Games Online Services

  5. Choose one of the programs, click Next, and then Yes, try to uninstall it. Once it's finished, repeat step 4 for the next two programs.

  6. Once all 3 programs are uninstalled, download the latest Epic Games Launcher installer from the Epic Games Store (Opens in a new tab).

  7. Run the installer and install Epic Games Launcher by following the on-screen instructions (make sure to allow Epic Online Services)
