Launcher Update Required when preloading a game

Preloading allows you to download and install a game before its release date, so you can start playing as soon as it becomes available. If you see a message that a Launcher Update is required, check if there is an update available for the Launcher:

1. Click your profile icon in the top right corner of the Launcher
2. Select Settings.
3. If you see a RESTART AND UPDATE button, select it to update the Launcher
   Note: You may need to accept a User Access Control (UAC) prompt. Refer to Why am I getting a Windows security prompt when updating or installing the Epic Games Launcher?

If your launcher is up to date and you still see this error, click on the Contact us button at the bottom of the page and include your launcher logs. Refer to How do I gather logs for Epic Games Launcher?
