How do I unlink my console account from my Epic Games account?

We highly discourage unlinking your console account from your Epic Games account for these reasons:

• Your Fortnite and Fall Guys game progress and purchases are stored on your Epic Games account, so if you unlink your console account from your Epic Games account, you’ll lose access to that data from your unlinked console account.
• If you sign in to your Epic Games account using a console or platform that was unlinked, you will automatically create a brand new Epic Games account. This new account will not have any game progression.
• If you play Rocket League and you unlink the account where your progress is stored (typically the device/console where you play Rocket League the most), your inventory and XP level on that account will be reset. 
• There is a restriction that prevents you from linking a new console account if the same console type was previously linked to your Epic Games account. You can refer to the section below: You previously linked a different [platform] account to your Epic Games account

If you still want to unlink your console account, follow the steps below:

1. Verify your email address.
2. Visit your Linked accounts (Opens in a new tab) page.
3. Select Unlink below the console or platform account you want to unlink.
    
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to unlink your account.

You previously linked a different [platform] account to your Epic Games account

This error means that another platform account was linked with this Epic Games account. You will need to remove the linking restriction first before you can link your new platform account. Here is how you can do this: 

1. Click here to remove linking restriction
   Caution: You can only do this once every 365 days. Before you do make sure you do the following:
   • If there is another account for the same platform currently linked with this Epic Games account, unlink it first by clicking Unlink under that platform in your Linked accounts (Opens in a new tab) page and following the on-screen instructions.
     Caution: If you have active Crew subscription on the linked platform account you are trying to remove, cancel it first as you will not get any new rewards from it once unlinked
2. After you successfully removed the restriction, go to the Linked accounts (Opens in a new tab) page and select Link under the platform icon again, then follow the on-screen instructions to complete it. 
3. If you successfully did that, you can now open a game on your console and you should see all the progress that you have on your main platform.
