How to restart the Epic Games Launcher

It’s important to keep your Epic Games Launcher updated, and sometimes restarting it is the best way to ensure you get these.
  1. In the lower right corner, click on the chevron icon (the arrow pointing up).
  2. Right-click on the Epic icon in the pop-up window.
  3. Select Exit.
  4. Remove any command-line arguments you may have added to the launcher desktop shortcut's target line.
    1. Right-click on the Epic Games Launcher desktop shortcut.
    2. Select Properties.
    3. Under the Shortcut tab, the field labeled Target should have a path that looks something like this (Your exact path may vary.): "C:\Program Files(x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64\EpicGamesLauncher.exe.exe"
    4. If there are any arguments in the Target field after the path, such as -http=wininet remove them.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Re-open the launcher.
  7. If updates need to be installed, the launcher should automatically detect them.
