How do I customize my voice reporting settings?

Players Under 18

For players under 18, Voice Reporting is always on. If you’re under 18 and do not wish to have your voice chat audio captured, you can mute yourself. You can also turn voice chat off entirely by selecting Off in your voice chat settings.

  1. Launch Fortnite.
  2. Start a game.
  3. Select the hamburger menu in the upper right corner.
  4. Select the gear icon for Settings.
  5. Select the speaker icon for Audio.
  6. Select Voice Reporting.
  7. Set to Off When Possible.

If you’re a parent, you can manage your child’s voice chat permissions. Do this by logging into your Epic Games account and using Parental Controls.

  1. Go to www.epicgames.com. (Opens in a new tab)
  2. Sign into your account.
  3. Click on your player icon in the upper right corner.
  4. Click on Account.
  5. Click on Settings.
  6. Click on Parental Controls.

Players 18 and Over

If you’re 18 or over, you can customize your voice reporting preferences. Do this in the main Fortnite settings

  1. Launch Fortnite.
  2. Start a game.
  3. Select the hamburger menu in the upper right corner.
  4. Select the gear icon for Settings.
  5. Select the person icon for Account and Privacy.
  6. Select Voice Reporting.
  7. Set to Always On or Off When Possible.

After selecting Always On, voice reporting will be on in every channel you’re in.

After selecting Off When Possible, voice reporting will be off in parties formed among friends where all players have voice reporting Off When Possible. Voice reporting will be on if Party Channels include one or more players with voice reporting set to Always On or a player added through Looking for Party.

The Off When Possible option applies to Party Channels only. Voice reporting will always be on in all Game Channels, which are channels that connect players on the same team but in different parties.
