How to report bad player behavior in Fortnite

We want to provide a safe and fun environment for players in Fortnite. To help maintain this, you can report bad player behavior in-game or from text and voice chat.

In addition to reporting with our in-game options, you can contact local authorities that handle these kinds of situations.


How do I report a text chat?

If text chat is on and text reporting is enabled, you can report the contents of your conversation to Epic for review. 

From the Sidebar:

  1. Open your profile icon. 
  2. Open the Chats tab (message icon).
  3. Select a conversation.
  4. Select the three-dot icon.
  5. Select Report chat.
  6. Press Submit to finish the report.

From the text chat window:

  1. Open the chat window.
  2. Select the Report button below the chat window.
  3. Press Submit to finish the report.

You can also report a specific message by selecting the three dots next to it.

How do I report a voice chat?

When voice reporting is on, the last five minutes of voice chat audio are captured on a rolling basis. This means only the immediate last five minutes of audio are reportable. 

  1. Select the profile icon.
  2. Select the three dots icon under Social.
  3. Select Report chat.

How do I report a player in-game?

  1. In-game, click the menu icon. If you’re already in a match, you can:
    1. On PC/Mac, press Esc.
    2. On PlayStation, press the Options.
    3. On Xbox, press the Menu.
    4. On Switch, press the +.
  2. Click the hamburger menu (3 lines).
  3. Select Report.
  4. Click Submit a report.
  5. Choose A player or sidekick.
  6. Select the player's name you wish to report. Select the reason you want to report the player
  7. Click ACCEPT to send the report.

You can also report a player on the in-game profile pages of players you’ve recently played with or from the voice channel players list. 

  1. On a player’s profile page, select More options.
  2. Select Report.
  3. Select the reason you want to report the player.
  4. Click ACCEPT.

How do I report a creator in a web browser?

  1. On a creator’s webpage, scroll to the bottom.
  2. Click the REPORT CREATOR.
  3. Select a violation.
  4. Click REPORT.
  5. Return to your game.
