What is Sleep Mode?
Fortnite will now go into Sleep Mode after you are inactive (no mouse, keyboard, or controller inputs) for 15 minutes. If you prefer to change this timer, or prefer not to go into Sleep Mode, you can adjust this in Game Settings by following the steps in How do I adjust my Sleep Mode settings in Fortnite?
You also have the option to manually enter sleep mode on PC by following the steps in How do I manually enter Sleep Mode in Fortnite on PC?
You will see a 30-second countdown alerting you that Sleep Mode will start soon and can press any button to dismiss the countdown and return to your activity.
Voice Chat, Time Limits, and Time Reports are paused when Fortnite enters Sleep Mode. If you enter Sleep Mode while in a party, your status will show as “Away” in the Lobby to other members of your party, and they can continue to play without you. If you are queuing for a match when Fortnite enters Sleep Mode, matchmaking will be canceled.
When you select Keep Playing, you will return to your previous activity unless you have been removed from a game for being idle or you were matchmaking when Sleep Mode began. In these cases, you will return to the Lobby
