What are Competitive Auto Tournaments in Rocket League?
Competitive Auto Tournaments are an in-game, ranked mode where you play against other teams of similar skill to earn unique tournament rewards. Competitive Tournaments feature 32-team, single-elimination brackets based on each team's skill level. Teams play one match each round until the Semifinals and Finals, which are best-of-three matches. Teams that lose the first round (or show up after the Tournament start time) can join a Second Chance bracket for another try at victory.
Matches cannot go over 11 minutes, including time spent on kickoffs and replays. If the game is tied, the team with the most shots wins. If the number of shots is the same, then the winner will be decided by a coin flip.
There is a scheduled tournament each week, which varies by region. Registration is open to everyone, and there is no limit to the number of tournaments you can join. You can register as an incomplete team, a full team, or as an individual. Once registered, you will receive a notification when the Tournament is about to start.

Prizes
When you complete the First Round of a Tournament, you’ve already earned some Tournament Credits. This is the in-game currency earned by participating in a tournament. Players will earn more Tournament Credits the further they go in the bracket. The higher the Tournament Rank, the larger the reward! Additionally, you can also earn bonus Tournament Credits for your Top Three Weekly Placements. The counter resets every Sunday. Your first three matches count towards your Top three Weekly Placements, no matter if you win or lose. You will only get rewards if you win at least one of the matches. Once you have played your first three Tournaments, you can earn additional Weekly Placement Rewards if you place higher than your previous Weekly Tournaments. The more you play, the more you earn!
The Tournament Credit reward is the same for all players on a team. Tournament Credits can be redeemed for Cups that will grant a customization Item. Tournament Items can be painted, certified, or both. Prizes may include Wheels, Decals, Goal Explosions, and titles. If you win the tournament, you'll earn a title for that specific rank. Penalties
There are penalties when quitting early. Quitting early results in:
- 15-minute matchmaking ban
- A ban from the next Competitive Tournament
- Forfeiting all rewards of that tournament
Please note that leaving the tournament before seeing the final tournament results is considered quitting early and will also result in penalties. Continuing to quit early can escalate to:
- 24-hour tournament ban
- 7-day tournament ban
- 24-hour matchmaking ban
Finishing tournaments, whether by winning or being eliminated, reduces the potential for further penalties.
