Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) Game Issues

  1. If you are receiving a specific error, please search our help site for an article on that error message.  Chances are we already have a solution for that specific error.  
  2. If your Service Update failed, please refer to Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) service update failed for instructions.  If this is not your issue, please continue to the next step.
  3. Follow the steps in How do I install Easy Anti-Cheat on my computer to play Fortnite?  If this does not resolve your issue, please move on to the next step
  4. Verify that you are launching your game from the Epic Games Launcher, and then move on to the next step.
  5. Verify that you can connect to Easy Anti-Cheat(EAC) by following these steps:
    • Click the following links:
    • You should see the message: '200 - HTTP OK' when clicking one or both of these links. If neither of the links displays this message, make sure that nothing is blocking your internet connection, such as a firewall. If necessary, add Easy Anti-Cheat and the game folder to the computer’s firewall exception list.  Sometimes connection issues are also caused by incorrect network router settings. For further assistance regarding router settings or any connectivity issues, please contact your router manufacturer or Internet Service Provider (ISP).  If you do see the '200 - HTTP OK' message, please move on to the next step.
  6. Make sure all the latest updates for the computer’s operating system are installed.  Refer to Microsoft Support (Opens in a new tab) or Apple Support (Opens in a new tab) for information on how to update Windows or macOS, respectively.   If this does not resolve your issue, move on to the next step.
  7. Make sure the latest version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables is installed. You can download them at Microsoft's support page: Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 (Opens in a new tab).  If this does not resolve your issue, move on to the next step.
  8. Follow Microsoft's steps for Using the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files (Opens in a new tab).  If this does not resolve your issue, move on to the next step.
  9. Close all programs.  Some programs will interfere with Easy Anti-Cheat.  Refer to the How do I disable background applications? article which explains how to perform a Cold Reboot.  If this does not resolve your issue, move on to the next step.
  10. Verify your game files by following the steps in How do I verify game files in the Epic Games Launcher?  If this does not resolve your issue, move on to the next step, please open an Epic Games support ticket
